I would say, it’s different.
Let’s take the example of an Insurance Agent. One of her KPI could be to sell a dozen of insurance policies. But if she is doing her job, she must sell policies which meet the needs of her clients, and not just for the sake of meeting her KPIs, sacrificing the interests of her clients.
At times, we might be stressed / motivated to meet our KPIs, as by meeting the expectations of our boss, we believe there are better chances for career progression (promotion, increment). But what about our values in life, the real reason we join the company and work? Just money?
